In addition to honoring dancers and creating many works representing the human form in action, I enjoy sculpting wildlife. When you review my gallery of available sculptures, you’ll see several works showcasing birds in flight, blue herons, a sailfish, a spoonbill, a striper fish and giraffes, just to name a few.
However, of all of the wildlife I’ve immortalized in my art, this work, “Snowy White Owl,” holds a special place in my heart! When I created the French clay sculpture to launch this work, I envisioned the quiet, still owl on a tree limb. Observing him at rest, one might almost be convinced that he is a work of art and not a living thing.
However, his piercing yellow-green eyes and sharp, black beak betray him as a strong hunter, poised to attack. He sits still until — boom! With a sudden thrust of reserved energy, he is off in flight! This work portrays the Snowy Owl just before he takes off with huge action!
I sculpted this piece in French clay, and it is cast in crystal and glass by a glass foundry of professional experts in Idaho. It is unique and beautiful, and ready to land in your art collection.
The dimensions of this piece: 26″H x 8″W.
This crystal sculpture, and other pieces featured on my site, are available for purchase. Contact me to discuss ordering or visit one of my affiliated galleries.
